Who’s the “we” when we talk about Novidea? Who’s behind the scenes making your platform the best it can be? In a new monthly blog post, we’ll be introducing you to a few of the smart individuals who keep Novidea humming.
We’re starting with Andy Dennis, our pre-sale engineer who was employee #2 in our US office and is playing a key role in its growth. He’s also a sports fan, a puzzle master, and a devoted dad.
Meet Andy Dennis, Pre Sale Engineer, US
1. What is your favorite Novidea memory/event/swag?
Visiting Israel for training last September was my first trip overseas, and I loved all the history, the food, and connecting with Novidea employees outside work.
2. What’s the nerdiest thing you do in your free time?
I enjoy doing logic puzzles called nonograms. There are apps with these puzzles, but I do mine on paper and have a large collection.
3. What are some of your hobbies?
I really enjoy playing sports, following the Wisconsin Badgers, playing video games and watching movies.
4. What’s the best place you’ve ever traveled to?
Definitely Israel, but second place goes to the ski resort Saint-Sauveur in Quebec during a record-setting snowfall. It was absolutely beautiful.
5. What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Golfing the Legend Golf course in South Africa. After a round of 18, you take a helicopter to get to the 19th hole on the top of a mountain.
6. Choose a movie title for the story of your life.
Jack of All Trades, Master of None. I enjoy dabbling in various hobbies and learning about different things, but I’m not an “expert” in one thing.
7. How do you manage work/life balance?
I have a wife and a 3½ year old son, so as soon as I’m done working I focus on my family and my other interests.
8. What’s the coolest thing about your job?
Being in the earliest stages of a start-up company in the US. Being a part of the project this early on means I wear a lot of hats but also that my contribution is valued.
We hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about the people who drive the smart behind Novidea! Stay tuned for our next feature.
